9 February, 2010WWE Keeping The ECW Championship After NXT?

WWE officials still aren’t sure what to do with the ECW Title. While ECW is going away, the belt may be kept around in some way. Some within WWE are lobbying for the belt to be kept around but the final decision will be Vince McMahon’s. Those in favor of keeping the belt feel that it can still be used as an attraction for secondary pay-per-view undercards

Honestly, why would the WWE keep the belt around? In my opinion, there’s no reason for it to stay once ECW comes to a close, they should choose to come up with a new title for the new show. What do you think?

7 February, 2010Update On Christian And The ECW Championship

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, there may be no official plans for the future of the ECW Championship once the brand ceases to exist in the next few weeks. There is said to be a chance that Christian will be pushed to a different brand, with Smackdown being the most likely of the two.

A WWE source reports that the company may not know yet exactly what they’re going to do with the ECW Title when NXT debuts and most likely current ECW Champion Christian will end up on the SmackDown brand.

1 February, 2010ECW Could See Some Changes

There remains lots of talk within WWE about the future of the ECW brand and how some major changes could be in store. While nothing is official regarding the actual changes, the belief is that they could be dropping both the ECW name and championship completely. According to Prowrestling.net, the new version of the show is being rumored to launch following WrestleMania 26 and have a focus with much more young talent with a few veteran talent involved.

I guess if this actually happens, we could finally see Christian on one of the main shows.

26 September, 2009Dark Rising To Be Released In The UK?

First off, I’m just going to say that I’m not trying to start any rumors, so if this never happens, please don’t blame me. I recently asked Andrew Cymek (via his twitter account) if there was any chance of Dark Rising ever being released in the United Kingdom, this was what I had gotten in response:

andrewcymek @ic_org I really hope so. And soon. DR is rep’d by E1 Worldwide. We’ll keep you posted but you may know before me.

So, there’s hope! If anything else comes out of this, I’ll be sure to keep you all updated!

1 September, 2009ECW / Dark Rising 2 News

It seems that on WWE.com they are advertising that the Undertaker / Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania 25 match, will be featured on this weeks ECW so seeing as that match was about 40 minutes long, there is a possibility that nothing else will be featured on the show.

Also I just looked over at Andrew Cymek’s twitter account (writer / director of Dark Rising & Medium Raw) and he has posted the following:

North Bay bound. It begins again…

After the first production meeting for DR2 it’s all starting to feel real again… Real and cold.

So it seems that filiming for Dark Rising 2 could actually be starting this week. This could be the reason why the Wrestlemania match is being repeated, as I doubt Christian will be able to make it.

11 April, 2009IGN.com: Top 25 Wrestlemania Matches

#14 – The First Money in the Bank Ladder Match – Wrestlemania XXI

Just when I was starting to miss the Tag Team Turmoil TLC matches at ‘Mania – they came up with this gem. The Money in the Bank Ladder match. Not only was it a way to get more talent booked on the card, but it was also a way for some extremely talented fellows to shine.

The WWF/WWE has always been great at putting on big event matches that are filled with emotion and story. Nothing gimmicky, just straight matches. But when they do insert the occasional weaponfest, or ladder match, they’re also able to remain innovative. Of course, a lot of these death-defying moves have been done in feds like ECW and ROH, and even smaller organizations. But it’s always fun to see WWE wrestlers, who are normally forced into wrestling a certain style of match, break free of their usual artistic constraints. This match marked the beginning of the rise of Edge, who won the match even though he was almost actually the least engaging person in it.

And who could forget Shelton Benjamin running up the ladder?

#1 – Edge and Christian vs The Dudleys vs The Hardys – TLC II – Wrestlemania XVII

This entire series, which began with a Dudleys/Hardeys/E & C Ladder Match at the previous Wrestlemania, was just a potboiler of insanity. From that match, it headed into a TLC (Tables, Ladders, Chairs) match between the three team at the previous Summerslam. Now it was time for TLC II! Yes, the match was named for the supposed items of power for each team. Dudleys were the “tables” guys. Hardeys were the “ladder” guys and Edge and Christian, because of their “ConCHAIRto” were the “chairs” guys. Now Edge and Christian had actually won the previous two matches in this series, so there was no way that they were winning for a third time, right?

Wrong!

They did it. And in their seventh and final title win, Edge and Christian captured the WWE Tag Titles! But not before all hell broke loose, including run-ins from each of the team’s “third” player. Lita for the Hardeys, Spike for the Dudleys, and Rhino for Edge and Christian! All of a sudden there were nine players in this beautiful chaotic symphony!

Sweet sweet violence. It’s like Satan’s giving me a scalp massage.
