9/2/10 ECW Results

After Ezekiel Jackson made short work of a local competitor with his devastating uranage, the massive Superstar’s associate, William Regal, grabbed the microphone. The British Brawler then ran down Tiffany before demanding that the beautiful boss grant Big Zeke an ECW Championship Match as her final act as General Manager.

Not one to back down from a confrontation, Christian personally accepted the challenge later in the evening and then upped the ante. Not only will the ECW Championship be on the line next Tuesday, but the match will be contested under Extreme Rules

8/2/10 Raw Results

NASCAR racer and guest host for the evening Carl Edwards opened the show, who was interrupted by WWE Champion Sheamus who came waltzing down the ring with a mic in hand.

Sheamus said that he was going to Wrestlemania in seven weeks as WWE Champion before demanding to be the last participant in the Elimination Chamber. All of a sudden, ECW Champion Christian’s music hit and he came out to the ring. Christian kind of botched a bad joke before Sheamus chimed in.

Christian said he was a bit offended. He said in two weeks time, ECW would be going off the air and be replaced by something new. Sheamus said that made Christian a lame duck champion. Christian made fun of him. Christian said in two weeks, everyone on ECW would be a free agent. He said he thinks his peeps on Raw miss him.

The two locked up and Christian got shoved hard backwards. Sheamus Christian blocked a follow up on an Irish whip charge only to get hit with an overhead slam after getting greedy on a cross body attempt. Sheamus clothes lined Christian to the floor as we went to commercial break.

WWE Keeping The ECW Championship After NXT?

WWE officials still aren’t sure what to do with the ECW Title. While ECW is going away, the belt may be kept around in some way. Some within WWE are lobbying for the belt to be kept around but the final decision will be Vince McMahon’s. Those in favor of keeping the belt feel that it can still be used as an attraction for secondary pay-per-view undercards

Honestly, why would the WWE keep the belt around? In my opinion, there’s no reason for it to stay once ECW comes to a close, they should choose to come up with a new title for the new show. What do you think?

Christian is featured in an interview segment as well as in a handicap match, from the 2nd October 2000 edition of Raw, which saw the team of Edge & Christian take on Steve Blackman for the Hardcore Championship.
